Title of the talk: Boundary quotients of right LCM semigroups

 

Abstract: In recent work by Brownlowe-Ramagge-Robertson-Whittaker,

a boundary quotient was introduced for right LCM semigroups. I will discuss how to improve its presentation for semigroups with the so-called accurate refinement property. This allows us to identify the

boundary quotient with a familiar C*-algebra for  many important

examples. In particular, we get intriguing structural results for boundary quotients associated to integral dynamics, and injective group endomorphisms of discrete (abelian) groups (with finite

cokernel).
