Summer School

on

Calculus of Variations

ROMA, July 4-8 2005

Dipartimento di Metodi e Modelli Matematici per le Scienze Applicate

The aim of the School is, on the one hand, to present some basic
aspects of the functions of bounded variations and,
on the other hand, to introduce some recent related problems
of the Calculus of Variations.

The lectures are mainly thought for PhD students and researchers in Analysis,
but no particular background is required.

Lecturers and Courses (Timetable)

FUENSANTA ANDREU, JOSÉ M. MAZÒN (Univ. de Valencia) – The total variation flow.

GIUSEPPE BUTTAZZO (Univ. di Pisa) – Optimization problems in transport theory.

NICOLA FUSCO (Univ. di Napoli) – BV-functions and their fine properties

Lectures will be held in Department Me.Mo.Mat. (room 11).

No conference fee is required. The application deadline is June 15^th, 2005.
