Nanostructured materials for nonlinear optics, and waveguiding.


In this talk I will present a study of the nonlinear optical properties of two systems of anostructured materials,  metallic nanoparticles embedded in glass matrices, and ordered arrays of metallic nanoprisms.

This includes the exploration of different aspects of the third-order nonlinear response of this systems employing ultrashort pulses.

I will also present results for channel waveguide formation with the metallic nanoparticles, and their characterization. Finally second harmonic studies and the relation to the structure of these systems will be presented.
